In order to avoid any undue stress or spend money on maintenance, it is necessary for you to understand the function of various components that supply power to your laptop. Many people are least bothered about their power supply parts of their laptop, till, one day your laptop suddenly stops working, without any warning. Usually, the problem is simple to detect and repair, only if you are aware of the functioning of these parts.

An important recommendation is to become familiar with the power strip that plugs into the wall because this is essential in maintaining proper care for any new laptop. Applying the power strip to the right type of outlet helps to regulate the amount of power that your laptop is receiving and prevents the laptop from receiving too much power, which could damage the laptop.

There are those who like to live dangerously and forego the use of a power strip. If they are unlucky, one fierce power spike or lightning strike can destroy a delicate piece of electronic machinery. It is an expensive lesson to learn, but it is never forgotten if it is learned the hard way.

Step two of the power line-up is the AC power adapter. It is your second line of defense against unruly bursts of electricity. This device transforms the alternating current coming from a continuous source of energy to the direct current that your computer needs to function and to recharge its internal battery.

Step three of your electrical umbilical system is the female adapter. This is the connector between the power cord and your laptop computer. It sends the current to your computer’s main electrical system, or mother board. This connector not only gives your mother board its electricity, it also charges the computer’s internal battery.

Another important hardware of the computer is the cooling fan. The cooling fan ensures that the computer does not over heat and burn out any of the components inside your laptop or make it switch off at odd times.

What is the hot mama of the whole ball of wax? The computer’s internal processor is constantly cranking along, so it gives off a lot of energy, which causes a rise in temperature. As you upgrade your processor, be sure you bump up the power of your cooling fan as well. You want to be able to balance the heat generation with a way of dropping the temperature.

As a last tip, keep the dirt, dust, and debris out of your computer’s cooling fan. As air is taken into the computer to lower its internal temperature, odd objects get sucked in along with it. A build up of grit or random pieces of debris may force your system to power off or have other strange problems. Keep it clean!
